Couple files Zoloft wrongful death lawsuit after child dies

Posted on November 2nd, 2011 No Comments

A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by a Missouri couple following the death of their infant in 2009. The lawsuit against Pfizer is centered around the baby’s death being directly related to the mother’s use of Zoloft during her pregnancy.

While the mother was pregnant she was taking the anti-depressant, Zoloft. When she gave birth, her child suffered numerous birth defects. The birth defects and severe heart troubles can be directly related to Zoloft. The baby succumbed to the defects one day later in the hospital.

The couple is alleging that Pfizer knowingly hid information pertaining to Zoloft and pregnancy from the public. Current research shows that Zoloft use during the first trimester can be harmful to the fetus, yet there are many instances where women are not aware of their pregnancy until they are past that trimester.

If you were taking Zoloft during your pregnancy and your child was born with a birth defect, please contact the Zoloft lawsuit attorneys of Williams Kherkher by calling 800-641-9810 today.
