Posted on August 18th, 2011 No Comments

Recently, there have been several studies that have shown the  link from selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, a type of antidepressant, and an increased risk of birth defects when women used then during pregnancy.

Common SSRI antidepressants include Zoloft, Celexa, Lexapro, Prozac, and Paxil. The use of these drugs during pregnancy have recently become a controversial subject because of the risk of birth defects.

One defect that has been associated with the Zoloft is an atrial septal defect or a hole in the heart.  The defect occurs when the upper heart chamber is separated by the heart.

If you or a loved one’s child has developed a birth defect after you were prescribed Zoloft during pregnancy, contact the Zoloft birth defect lawyers of Williams Kherkher today by calling 800-641-9810 today.
